Paving & driveway cleaning in Pretoria and Centurion

Black algae in the shady corners, moss in the joints, oil drips under the car, red Highveld soil ground into every brick. We blast it all out and bring your paving back to the colour it was when it was laid.

What we clean

  • Driveways, walkways and garage aprons
  • Pool surrounds, patios and braai areas
  • Brick, concrete, interlocking and cobble pavers
  • Clay and older paving on a gentler setting
  • Complexes, estates and HOA common areas
  • Shopping-centre walkways and parking bays

Why paving gets so dirty on the Highveld

Pretoria's summer thunderstorms soak paving almost every afternoon, and anything in shade under a tree or along a boundary wall stays damp long enough for algae and moss to take hold. In winter the opposite happens: dry wind blows fine red soil across the property and it settles into the pores of the brick. Add jacaranda and leaf stains, tyre marks and oil, and a driveway that is only five years old can look twenty.

Sweeping and hosing moves the loose dirt around, but it doesn't reach the grime that has worked its way into the surface. A commercial pressure washer does, and it gets there in a fraction of the time.

How we clean paving

We start with a walk-around to spot loose bricks, cracked edges and areas where the jointing sand is already thin. Then we pre-treat heavy algae and organic growth, clean the surface with a rotary surface cleaner for an even finish without stripes, and detail the edges, steps and corners with a lance. Finally we rinse everything down so the mess ends up in the garden or drain, not on your walls or windows.

Different paving needs different pressure. Dense concrete pavers can take a lot; old clay bricks and softer stone can't. We adjust the pressure, nozzle and distance to the surface, so you get a deep clean without etching or pitting the paving.

What about the sand between the bricks?

Any thorough clean will lift some loose or contaminated jointing sand, especially where weeds have been growing. Ask us about re-sanding when we quote. Topping up the joints afterwards locks the pavers in and makes it harder for weeds to come back.

Keeping it clean

Most homes in Pretoria and Centurion only need a deep clean once a year. Shady, damp areas and busy driveways may need it every six months. Read our guide on how often to pressure wash your paving.

Our process

  1. Inspect

We check the paving type, loose bricks, drainage and problem stains.

  2. Pre-treat

We apply treatment to heavy algae, moss and organic staining so it lets go.

  3. Surface clean

A rotary surface cleaner gives an even, stripe-free finish.

  4. Detail & rinse

We do the edges, steps and corners, then a full rinse-down.

Paving & Driveway Cleaning: FAQ

Will pressure washing damage my paving?

Not when the pressure suits the surface. We use lower pressure on clay and older brick, higher on dense concrete, and a surface cleaner to avoid stripes and etching.

Can you remove oil stains from my driveway?

Fresh and moderate oil stains usually lift well, and old ones fade a lot. Very old oil that has soaked deep into porous concrete may leave a faint shadow, and we will tell you honestly before we start.

How long does a driveway take?

An average residential driveway usually takes a few hours. Large properties, estates and commercial areas take longer, and we give you a time estimate with the quote.

Do I need to be home?

Not necessarily. We need access to the area and an outside tap. Many clients let us in, then leave us to it.
